Government scraps entry-exit declarations
The Government has approved the abolition of entry-exit summary declarations at international airports with effect to take place as of September 15.
It will be expanded to other ports of entry in future. More information is available at the Immigration Management Agency's website, www.vnimm.gov.vn.

Road accidents in September cost 133 lives
There were around 170 traffic accidents in the country between September 2 and 6, in which 133 people died and 158 others were injured.
Police fined over 51,800 people for violating road rules during the holidays.

Imported medicine prices increase slightly
The Viet Nam Drug Administration's survey of the drug market last month found that most medicine prices were slightly up.
The prices of imported drugs rose by 4.8 per cent.
Twenty one domestic drug companies had proposed price increases for a number of medicines, the Drug Administration Department said.
Analysts predict the prices of many local products will increase this year due to higher prices of imported raw materials.

Fishermen rescued off Truong Sa islands
A fishing vessel rescued 11 fishermen from central Phu Yen Province on Sunday after their boat developed problems off the Truong Sa (Spratly) islands.
The distressed boat and its crew will arrive in Phu Yen on Friday.
